Sumyzin® is a herbicide with powerful residual effects if applied to the soil and a fast and “burning” effect if applied to foliage. The active ingredient in Sumyzin® is flumioxizin, which blocks protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) in chloroplast. With effect from solar power the herbicide causes active oxygen to oxidise lipids in the cell membrane, thus destroying it. The final result is the destruction of chloroplast in the plant, which prevents photosynthesis and brings about its death.
Sumyzin® is an effective product on species missed by glyphosate and have a very good non-selective effect in several plantation crops. Rain matters little to the effect of Sumyzin®, even shortly after application to foliage. Soil application creates a zone that prevents germination of weeds and a higher dosage results in a long-term effect. Always read and follow label directions.
Sumimax®, from Sumitomo Chemical, is a herbicide with powerful residual effects if applied to the soil and a fast and “burning” effect if applied to foliage. The active ingredient in Sumimax is flumioxazin, which blocks protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) in chloroplast. With effect from solar power the herbicide causes active oxygen to oxidise lipids in the cell membrane, thus destroying it. The final result is the destruction of chloroplast in the plant, which prevents photosynthesis and brings about its death.

Pledge®, from Sumitomo Chemical, is a herbicide with powerful residual effects if applied to the soil and a fast and “burning” effect if applied to foliage. The active ingredient in Pledge®, is flumioxazin, which blocks protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) in chloroplast. With effect from solar power the herbicide causes active oxygen to oxidise lipids in the cell membrane, thus destroying it. Distance PLUS® Ant Bait, from Sumitomo Chemical, is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that interferes with the ant’s growth and development.
Distance PLUS® Ant Bait prevents the queen from laying viable eggs and metamorphosis of larvae into adult ants, and breaks the reproductive cycle of the ant, thereby disrupting their work and eventually causing starvation in the colony.
Distance® PLUS Ant Bait provides long-lasting ant control. It is important to understand that this IGR works slowly, causing a gradual reduction in worker numbers. The end goal should be elimination of the colony. This is the strength of Distance® PLUS Ant Bait.

DiPel® is a biological insecticide from Valent BioSciences (VBC) containing the naturally occurring microorganism Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies kurstaki (Btk). For the manufacture of DiPel®, VBC selected a proprietary, high yielding Btk strain (ABTS-351).
Globally, DiPel® has become a cornerstone insecticide in many IPM programs as it offers high quality, cost-effective, broad-spectrum caterpillar control on more than 200 crops, including not only bananas, pineapples, oil palm and sugar cane, but also vegetables, fruits, nuts, vines, cotton, and corn.
The active ingredient in DiPel® consists of an optimized blend of four potent Bt protein toxins and a spore. Many other Bt strains lack the volume and balance of Bt toxin proteins that DiPel® delivers. DiPel® toxins have distinct modes of action unlike chemical insecticides, providing a perfect tool for insect pest control programs which employ tank mix or rotation for insecticide resistance management. Always read and follow label directions.
ParaMite®, from Sumitomo Chemical, is very effective against a variety of mites and also easy on beneficial insects, making it a great fit in your integrated pest management (IPM) application program.
ParaMite® has the active ingredient etoxazole, which has no cross-resistance to existing miticides. That makes it an excellent choice for controlling mites and an important part of an effective resistance management strategy.
Carefully scouting mite populations will help focus your IPM program. Populations can increase rapidly when the weather is right and ParaMite® will work best when it’s mostly eggs and nymphs. If the mite population is predominantly adult, it’s best to mix in a knock-down miticide along with ParaMite® to reduce the number of adults. While ParaMite® will sterilize adult females to prevent egg-laying, they will continue to feed.
ParaMite® is translaminar, that is, it penetrates leaf tissues and form a reservoir of active ingredient within the leaf. Good coverage will maximize control. Do not apply ParaMite® if rainfall is expected before the spray will dry and to manage resistance, do not apply more than one spray per season. And, of course, always read and follow label directions.
Aztron® from Valent BioSciences is a biological insecticide containing a natural, potent strain of the microorganism Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies aizawai (Bta). It controls caterpillar pests on bananas, vegetables, stone fruits, nuts, row crops, and turf (specific registrations vary by country). Aztron® is proven to provide exceptional control of key problem pests such as banana caterpillar, armyworms and diamondback moth larvae.
As a native Bt strain, Aztron® contains insecticidal toxin proteins that are typically found in other Bt subspecies (typical Bta and Btk). Aztron® features a balanced blend of four potent toxin proteins and a spore, targeting key pests at levels few biological products can match.
Aztron® does not harm important beneficial insects such as bees for pollination, insect predators, and parasites used in control of other insect pests. Aztron® is also not harmful to humans, wildlife or the environment, providing growers with much-needed flexibility. Aztron® can be applied right up to the time of harvest, since it has zero post-harvest interval (PHI), though regional regulations may vary. Always read and follow label directions.
XenTari® from Valent BioSciences is a biological insecticide containing a natural, potent strain (ABTS-1857) of the microorganism Bacillus thuringiensis subspecies aizawai (Bta). It controls caterpillar pests on bananas, vegetables, stone fruits, nuts, row crops, and turf (specific registrations vary by country). XenTari® is proven to provide exceptional control of key problem pests such as banana caterpillar, armyworms and diamondback moth larvae.
